Its film version became the <strong>second highest-grossing Catalan-language film of 2022<\/strong>. In the summer of 2023, the movie reached <strong>No. 2 in Netflix Spain\u2019s Top 10 most-watched films<\/strong>, bringing a comedy filmed in Catalan to new audiences.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the film has been an<strong> international sales success<\/strong>, reaching audiences in more than <strong>20 countries<\/strong>. The blend of comedy, suspense and secrets among friends has transformed the universe created by <strong>H\u00e8ctor Claramunt and Joel Joan<\/strong> into a Catalan franchise with a reach far beyond the theatre and growing international appeal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00abESCAPE ROOM 2\u00bb<\/strong> embraces visual spectacle and entertainment, aiming to offer audiences a type of cinema rarely seen in Catalonia: a combination of adventure film, thriller and comedy that can be enjoyed by the whole family.<\/p>\n<h4>Synopsis<\/h4>\n<p><em>Five years later, Edu, Marina, Viky and Rai mysteriously cross paths again at a trendy new venue perched atop Montju\u00efc hill, where the former amusement park once stood. It soon becomes clear that the establishment is not what it seems. Before long, they find themselves trapped in a buried attraction, a haunted tunnel that had long been forgotten. There, a countdown timer appears alongside a threatening message that feels disturbingly familiar: they have 60 minutes to escape, or they will die.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00abESCAPE ROOM 2\u00bb<\/strong> is a production by<strong> Arriska, Nakatomi, Focus and La Charito<\/strong>, with the participation of <strong>3Cat and RTVE<\/strong>, and the support of the <strong>Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC)<\/strong>.
