The new original production from La Villarroel, La mà, is an adaptation of Martin McDonagh’s play, directed by Pau Carrió and starring Pol López, Albert Prat, Mia Sala-Patau, and Soribah Ceesay.
The play, winner of a Tony Award, is a dark comedy set in a seedy hotel in a small town in deep America. It was written by Martin McDonagh, one of the most acclaimed writers of recent years, both as a playwright —with works such as A Skull in Connemara or The Beauty Queen of Leenane— and as a screenwriter, with films like Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Banshees of Inisherin, which have received top honors.
Pol López, one of the most prominent actors of his generation —winner, among others, of the Butaca Award and the Ciutat de Barcelona Award for his performances— once again delves into McDonagh’s unique universe after the success achieved with La calavera de Connemara.
The play will premiere on Sunday, October 19th, at La Villarroel.
