A family dinner where everyone will be exposed.

The hit comedy by Cesc Gay returns.

Big arguments often start with something silly—a word said out of tone or a slightly overextended final vowel in an otherwise innocent sentence. And when this happens between siblings, in the context of a family gathering, the chances of the evening turning into something more than a pleasant reunion are quite high. Because, as one of the characters in this family comedy puts it, “the same blood runs through their veins and they are irremediably bound to one another, condemned to be part of each other despite all the fights and endless discussions.”

Cesc Gay takes his second step into theatre after the great reception of Els veïns de dalt (The Neighbors Upstairs), which was seen by over 150,000 spectators. 53 Sundays is a comedy about family relationships, starring three siblings. The Catalan version premiered in 2020 at the Teatre Romea in Barcelona, where it ran for half a year with great success both critically and with the audience.

On this occasion, 53 Sundays will also have a film adaptation produced by Netflix, scheduled to premiere in 2026.
