26-27 THEATRE SEASON – Focus Celebrates 40 Years with a Record-Breaking Season and More Than 60 Productions

16/09/2026

Grup Focus has unveiled its 2026-2027 theatre season as it celebrates its 40th anniversary, a milestone that comes at one of the most successful moments in the company’s history. Last season, the Romea, Condal, La Villarroel, and Goya theatres achieved record-breaking figures, welcoming 534,000 spectators, generating €14.7 million in box office revenue, and presenting 68 productions across 1,402 performances.

The new season will feature more than 60 productions and bring together many of the most acclaimed voices in contemporary theatre, including Emma Vilarasau, José Sacristán, Josep Maria Pou, Lluís Homar, Lolita, Àngels Gonyalons, Joan Pera, Cesc Gay, Juan Mayorga, Nelson Valente, Jordi Casanovas, and Pau Carrió, among many others.

Under the theme “Awakening, Celebration and Dream”, Focus marks its 40-year journey not as a look back at the past, but as an opportunity to continue imagining the future of the performing arts. The company champions theatre as a space for encounter, emotion and shared reflection, capable of generating new stories and new ways of connecting with audiences.

Building on the outstanding results of the previous season, the group has reinforced its commitment to theatrical creation and production with an investment of €14.5 million in its theatre division. Focus also continues to develop educational and social initiatives such as Cooltiva’t and Gransteatrerus, while preparing ambitious future projects, including Gènesis, the group’s new theatre and performing arts school.

With this new season, Focus reaffirms its commitment to growth, expanding opportunities for creators, performers and audiences alike, while consolidating its position as one of the driving forces behind the country’s cultural life.
