On Friday, 4 September, Focus held the Presentation of the 2026-27 Theatre Season at Teatre Goya, an event that, as has become customary, brought together leading figures and personalities from the cultural world, as well as the very best of the Catalan theatre scene.
The theatre, packed to capacity as usual, hosted a doubly special gala. In addition to unveiling the productions that will make up the theatrical season across Focus’s four theatres, the event also served as the central celebration of the company’s 40th anniversary. This milestone was reflected in the elegant festive golden theme that shaped both the décor and the photocall, as well as in the striking design of this year’s season magazine.
The event opened with speeches by César Martínez, who spoke about how Focus is a beautiful dream brought to life and one whose best years are still ahead; Isabel Vidal, who shared the company’s all-time record figures from the previous season (530,000 spectators and €14.7 million in box office revenue); and Daniel Martínez, who closed the ceremony with heartfelt words of gratitude to everyone who makes it possible for Focus to continue bringing great stories to the stage, along with a sincere hope that culture will prevail in today’s turbulent and polarised times.
The gala concluded with a reception where attendees celebrated the occasion and discussed the highlights of the upcoming season and the productions that will delight audiences in the months ahead.
