Summer of 1983. The famous English writer Roald Dahl is reviewing the proofs of his latest book, which is about to go to print, but the scandal caused by an anti-Semitic article he recently published shows no signs of subsiding. Over the course of a single afternoon at his home, faced with an unexpectedly confrontational interlocutor, Dahl is forced to choose between apologizing publicly or putting his fame and reputation at risk.

Josep Maria Pou portrays Roald Dahl, the eccentric and internationally renowned writer, author of hits such as Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Witches, who saw how some of his controversial statements set the press ablaze, damaging his reputation and leading to unforeseeable consequences.

Directed by Josep Maria Mestres and inspired by real events, Mark Rosenblatt’s play offers a multifaceted portrait of a terribly charismatic writer and explores, with sharpness not devoid of humor, the difference between reasoned opinion and the dangers of rhetoric driven by prejudice.
