The production that is generating the most controversy everywhere.
Josep Maria Pou plays Roald Dahl, the eccentric writer of international fame, author of hits such as Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Witches, who saw how some controversial statements of his angered the press, affecting his reputation, with unforeseeable consequences.
Directed by Josep Maria Mestres and inspired by real events, Mark Rosenblatt’s play offers a multifaceted portrait of a terribly charismatic literary figure and explores, with a sharpness that is not without humor, the difference between reasoned opinion and the dangers of rhetoric dictated by prejudice.
Summer 1983. The famous English writer Roald Dahl reviews the proofs of his latest book, which is about to go to print, but the scandal provoked by an anti-Semitic article he has recently published does not seem to subside. Over the course of a single evening at home, confronted by an unexpectedly belligerent interlocutor, Dahl is forced to choose between a public apology and risking fame and reputation.
