Josep Maria Pou portrays Roald Dahl, the eccentric internationally renowned writer, author of hits like Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Witches, whose controversial public statements stirred the media and tarnished his reputation with unpredictable consequences.
Directed by Josep Maria Mestres and inspired by true events, Mark Rosenblatt’s play paints a multifaceted portrait of a terribly charismatic author, and insightfully – and often humorously – explores the difference between reasoned opinion and the dangers of rhetoric shaped by prejudice.
