On 10 February, the Board of Directors of Grup Focus decided to appoint Isabel Vidal as CEO of Grup Focus, thereby relieving the President of the Group of executive duties.
The President of the Group, Daniel Martínez de Obregón, will retain the presidency of the Board of Directors, as well as the presidency of Àfora.
Isabel Vidal embarks on a new stage of growth for the largest Catalan business group in Spain in the performing arts sector, at a time when the Group is undergoing a major expansion process. Only a few days ago, Grup Focus presented the Gènesis project, which includes a new theatre in Barcelona and a higher education school for the performing arts. Grup Focus is made up of 18 companies, with headquarters in Barcelona and Madrid, dedicated to the creation, production, exhibition and distribution of cultural content through its divisions of Theatre, Audiovisual, Events, Marketing and Communication, Rights and Intellectual Property, and Integrated Technical Services, with a clear commitment to preserving the founding values that gave rise to the company and its motto: a modern business organisation in the service of an artistic vocation.
Born in Barcelona in 1971, Isabel Vidal holds a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and began her career at Focus in 1996, where she has held various positions of responsibility before being appointed CEO of the Group.
With a long career linked to cultural and business management, she is President of ADETCA and First Vice President of FAETEDA. She is actively involved in organisations related to the cultural sector and is currently a member of the Cercle de Cultura, the Cercle d’Economia, the Association of Cultural Management Professionals of Catalonia, the boards of PIMEC and the Audiovisual Cluster, among other organisations. She is also an academic member of the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts, co-founder of Actua Cultura 2% and of Grupo Niebla.
