LA NIT DE LES LLETRES CATALANES

18/03/2026

La Nit de les Lletres Catalanes is the major gala dedicated to celebrating Catalan literature and recognizing the leading works and careers within the country’s literary landscape. The event is promoted by Òmnium Cultural and the Institut d’Estudis Catalans, and takes place in the Oval Hall of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC), bringing together authors, publishers, translators, booksellers, and key representatives of the cultural sector.

At Focus, we are responsible for the overall event design, the creation of audiovisual content, and the full production of the gala.

The artistic direction is led by Lluís Danés, who presents a contemporary stage proposal that highlights Catalan literature and its key figures. The gala aims to expand the public visibility of Catalan letters and to engage the entire book ecosystem — authors, translators, publishers, bookshops, and libraries — in a shared cultural celebration.

The event builds on the legacy of the historic Nit de Santa Llúcia and evolves into a renewed format that includes twelve literary awards, covering published works, unpublished works, and recognitions for the promotion of Catalan language and culture. The gala is broadcast live on 3Cat and hosted by Xavier Grasset, Alba Riera, and Elisenda Pineda.
