Two of this year’s most successful in-house productions are coming to the end of their run in Barcelona. On one hand, Gegant, starring Josep Maria Pou, wraps up its season at Teatre Goya after premiering in July at Teatre Romea as part of the Grec Festival de Barcelona. The play has been acclaimed by critics, who have praised Josep Maria Pou’s powerful performance. Gegant now begins an extensive tour across Catalonia, and in March, the Spanish version of the show, Gigante, will premiere at Teatro Bellas Artes in Madrid.
Meanwhile, Un sogre de lloguer, the comedy led by Joan Pera, has enjoyed a second season in Barcelona following its debut at Teatre Goya. This year it has been staged at Teatre Condal, home to some of the best works by the most beloved Catalan comedian. Starting in December, the show will continue its tour throughout Catalonia.
