After the success of Germans de sang, Teatre Condal is preparing to welcome Focus’s new production, the comedy Una idea genial.
The play, written by Sébastien Castro, has been adapted by Susanna Garachana and directed by Xavier Ricart. It stars Lluís Villanueva, Xavi Mira, Susanna Garachana and Anna Azcona.
The play is a comedy of mistaken identities that won two Molière Awards, the highest honours in French theatre. The show tells the story of Arnau, a man who suspects that Mariona, his wife, is having an affair with Oriol, the real estate agent helping them find a flat. When Arnau meets Tomàs, an amateur actor who looks exactly like the agent, he hires him to impersonate Oriol at a dinner in order to find out whether his suspicions are true. It seems like a brilliant idea… until the agent, his double and the double’s twin brother — a plumber who comes to fix a leak — end up meeting. Three identical men and an indiscreet neighbour will make the plan seem, perhaps, not so brilliant after all.
