The farce Una idea genial, written by Sébastien Castro, adapted by Susanna Garachana and directed by Xavier Ricart, is receiving a wonderful response from audiences at the Condal, confirming not only the strong work of the creative team, but also the impact of the hilarious performances by the cast, made up of Lluís Villanueva, Xavi Mira, Susanna Garachana and Anna Azcona.
Winner of two Molière Awards, the highest honours in French theatre, the show tells the story of Arnau, a man who suspects that Mariona, his wife, is having an affair with Oriol, the real estate agent helping them find a flat. When Arnau meets Tomàs, an amateur actor who is the spitting image of the agent, he hires him to impersonate him at a dinner in order to find out whether his suspicion is true or not. It seems like a brilliant idea… until the agent, his double, and the double’s twin brother—a plumber who comes to fix a leak—end up crossing paths. Three identical men and a nosy neighbour will make it clear that the idea might not be so brilliant after all.
