This October, the Temporada Alta festival launches a new initiative in Barcelona: Flaix de tardor – BCN, an international performing arts programme that, from October 21 to November 15, will bring seven top-level shows to six theatres across the city — with two standout events at Teatre Goya and La Villarroel.
Le voci di Dante – Teatre Goya – October 21
Renowned Italian actor Toni Servillo, celebrated for his powerful stage presence, takes to the stage at Teatre Goya with Le voci di Dante. Featuring dramaturgy by Giuseppe Montesano and produced by the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, this contemporary and compelling performance is inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. A poetic and visually captivating journey that brings Dante’s work closer to today’s audiences.
Medida por medida (la culpa es tuya) – La Villarroel – October 25 to 28
Witty humour and irreverent spirit take over La Villarroel thanks to Gabriel Chamé Buendia, an international reference in physical theatre and clowning. With Medida por medida (la culpa es tuya), Chamé presents a clever and critical reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s classic, offering an inventive staging that blends parody and contemporary themes.
Flaix de tardor – BCN aims to establish itself as a new platform for bringing high-quality international theatre to the heart of Barcelona. With institutional support from the Government of Catalonia and Barcelona City Council, the initiative strengthens the city’s cosmopolitan theatrical scene, building bridges with other major festivals such as the Grec and offering local audiences the chance to discover diverse creative voices from around the world.
