Teatre Romea will premiere a new version of Tirant lo Blanc

21/05/2024

As part of the Festival Grec de Barcelona 2024, Teatre Romea will present, from June 25, a new version of one of the peaks of Catalan literature, Tirant lo Blanc.

The play, written by Màrius Serra based on the classic by Joanot Martorell, is directed by Joan Arqué and stars Quim Àvila, Laura Aubert, Judit Neddermann, Moha Amazian, Neus Ballbé, Clara Mingueza, Ireneu Tranis and Agnès Jabbour . This new version is a production of the Teatre Romea i Grec 2024 Festival de Barcelona.

Written more than five hundred years ago, Tirant lo blanc is a pillar of chivalric literature. Taking the most epic chapters of the adventures of the knight of Valencia, and from a breaking and current perspective, we will follow Tirant and Plaerdemavida on a shipwreck to the coast of North Africa and on their long journey to return home, in Constantinople, with his beloved Carmesina. A story full of dangers, loves and conflicts that resonate, through time, to the world of today.
